V1 utilized the self-checkout, at which time he authorized a cash withdrawal from the checkout kiosk. V1 advised he forgot to get the cash from the kiosk, and left the store. A few minutes later, he advised he realized he did not get his money, so he returned to the kiosk and discovered the money was gone and a female utilizing the kiosk to check out. V1 stated the female denied taking the money. Case is active to Deputy Williams for further investigation.

D1 and V1 are boyfriend/girlfriend and live together as a family unit. An investigation revealed D1 struck V1 in the face, causing a black eye. V1 refused medical treatment and was uncooperative with deputies. D1 was determined to be the primary aggressor and was arrested for felony battery (D1 has 3 prior felony convictions). CBA

R1 reported when she entered the men's restroom at Valentine Park in Orange City, she discovered the restroom was filled with smoke. R1 advised she didn't see anyone in or near the restroom prior to her entering. Deputies observed unknown suspects placed pine needles in the sink and set them on fire. The Orange City Fire Marshal responded to the scene and continued the investigation.

D1 was stopped at the intersection of E. Minnesota Ave. & N. Volusia Ave. in Orange City, for failure to maintain a single lane and operating a motor vehicle without having her lights on. V1 was arrested for driving under the influence after she blew a 0.217 and 0.214. D1 was transported to the VCBJ without incident.

Deputies responded to a reported burglary in progress. (W1) observed a vehicle backed into her neighbor's residence. W1 observed a male run from the rear of the residence, enter the car and flee the area. Entry was not made into the residence and no items were reported stolen.

D1- Wilbert Bubba Smith III, B/M, 01/16/1999, 31 Townhill Drive, Eustis
Deputy Cheek responded to assist Orange City Police Department in reference to a reported Strong Arm Robbery. Information was received that a male subject stole a cellular phone from a business at 1155 S. Volusia Avenue, by grabbing the phone out of the victim's hand. The suspect fled in a black, Chrysler 200 bearing FL license plate 9872TX.
Deputy Cheek observed the vehicle traveling southbound on S. Volusia Avenue near Enterprise Road. Deputy Cheek attempted a traffic stop; however, the suspect vehicle failed to yield. Deputy Cheek was able to maintain visual contact with the vehicle as it continued driving southbound.
Additional deputies and officers from the Orange City Police Department responded in an effort to deploy Stop Sticks and apprehend the suspect. The suspect made a turn into a subdivision with only one way out. Deputies were able to apprehend the suspect (Wilbert Bubba Smith III).
Deputy Cheek filed charges for Fleeing and Eluding and Driving While License Suspended.
Orange City Police had additional charges for the Strong Arm Robbery and an Active Warrant.

No Significant Activity to Report
Deputies responded to Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in reference to a report of a shot person. Upon arrival, deputies contacted O1, who had been shot in his right thigh. O1 was brought to the hospital by O2. Contact was made with O2, who advised he and O1 were outside of his residence, when a white truck sped by. He stated they yelled at the truck, which turned around and fired one shot out the window, striking O1 in the leg. O1's statements were conflicting with O2, as he stated he argued with a male, who was on foot, out in front of the residence, at which time the male shot him in the leg. On-call detectives and crime scene responded, at which time O2 confessed to shooting O1 accidentally while playing with his parent's firearm within the residence. The statements were corroborated, and the shooting was deemed accidental by detectives. O1 suffered a shattered femur, and was transported to ORMC for surgery. Lieutenant Piser was notified, and responded. Case is active to CID for further investigation.

V1 called law enforcement to advise he was back home. V1 advised he checked himself in to a rehab center in Jacksonville and failed to notify his parents. V1 was evaluated and did not meet Baker Act criteria. V1 was removed from F/NCIC.

180028473- W/F, 11/18/1982, DeBary, Simple Domestic Battery (Deputy Williams)
V1 and D1 were involved in an argument over D1's infidelity. During the argument, D1 became upset with V1 and struck him several times. No injuries were reported by V1. D1 was determined to be the primary aggressor and was subsequently arrested. D1 was transported to VCBJ. Case is closed.
R1 reported his son, V1, missing from the residence. R1 advised V1 was last seen at his residence around 1400 hours on 12/08/2018. R1 stated V1 does not suffer from any medical or mental ailments, and could be staying with an unknown friend in Orange City and/or DeLand. R1 advised V1 is a habitual runaway. Nothing suspicious observed, and V1 was entered into FCIC/NCIC as missing. Ms. Quann was notified. Case is active.

18- 28413 W/M 11/09/2001, OC, Battery (Simple DV) and Child Abuse Deputy Gering.
Deputy Graves responded to Elm St for a report of a 16 year old male that left behind a suicide note. V1 was last seen at the residence two hours prior. Sgt. Turner requested Air-1 and OCPD assist in the area search for V1. The watch commander, Lt. McKnight was notified as well. Deputies also tracked down several friends and fellow students in the attempt to locate V1.
Three and a half hours later, V1 returned home on his own. He would not tell deputies where he was staying or who he was with. Given the facts and circumstances, V1 was placed under the Baker Act and taken to HMS in Daytona Beach.
Deputy Gering responded to a fight call between mother and juvenile son. Michael then shoved his juvenile sister before leaving the home. The son walked a short distance but was located by a OCPD officer nearby. Mike Kashmere was taken into custody for simple battery DV. Ms. Quann was contacted and DJJ declined so the def. was turned over to his grandmother at the district office.

Deputies responded to 8 Monroe Av in Debary in reference to a residential burglary. Upon arrival, Deputy Lee made contact with the victim, Robert Moriarty (V1), who advised he arrived at one of his rental properties and discovered that his Honda generator (unknown model or serial number) valued at $2,500.00 was missing. Moriarty provided a signed and sworn statement detailing the incident and advised he wished to pursue charges.

R1 reported that V1 had returned home to his apartment. Deputies responded to the apartment and confirmed V1 was home. V1 was removed from databases as missing.

Spencer (V1) reported person(s) unknown stole his green and black motorized scooter from his driveway during the overnight hours. Spencer noted the scooter had a dead battery. Later in the shift, Officer Kibbe of the Orange City Police Department found the scooter abandoned behind a business located at 744 E. Rhode Island Avenue, Orange City.
No suspects or witnesses were identified. Case Status: Inactive

Tareco (R1) reported her adult son, Tareco (V1), left the residence on 12/03/2018 and has not returned. Investigation revealed Tareco (V1) usually goes to work each day at his business in DeLeon Springs and returns each night. Tareco (R1) stated it was unusual for Tareco (V1) not to return home.
(O1) was the last person to speak with Tareco (V1) at which time he stated he was in Jacksonville.
Tareco was entered into databases as a Missing Person.

V1 reported an unknown suspect texted her a naked photo of her from the neck down and continued to send unwanted text messages. Deputies conducted numerous extra patrols of V1's residence throughout the shift. Case status: Active

White (V1) returned to the residence on his own accord. White (V1) stated he stayed with a friend named Andrew but was unable/unwilling to provide a last name or location. White 9V1) was in good physical and mental health. White (R1) was on scene when White (V1) returned home.\

R1 contacted the Sheriff's Office because his son, V1, had not returned home from school. R1 advised V1 has had some disciplinary issues, and V1 had run away in the past. R1 does not believe V1 is in any danger, and believes he may be staying somewhere with a friend. V1's friend's residence was checked, with negative results. V1 is in good health, and does not require medications. V1 was entered into databases as missing. SRD Worlledge was notified via email, as V1 attends University High School. Case is active.

Deputies responded to Florida Hospital in reference to a female who was being treated for injuries to her face from a weapons discharge. It was determined the female was test firing the firearm in contemplation of committing suicide. The ER doctor had already placed the female under a Baker Act and treated her for superficial wounds. She was released and transported to Halifax Medical Center.
Deputies photographed the residence, recovered the gun and ammunition. A Risk Protection Order packet was completed and forwarded to legal for review.
180028009- B/M, DeBary, Felony Battery by DV Strangulation (Deputy Otte)
Stolen Vehicle Information- Black 2018 Tylt open top dump trailer (two rear barn doors);
V1 reported between 0045 and 0630 hours on 12/03/2018, unknown suspect(s) stole the above listed trailer (valued at $6,800) from his residence. Trailer and tag were entered into databases as stolen. Case is active to Deputy Richardson for further investigation.
V1- Eric Norris, W/M, 02/24/1979, 1160 7th Street, Orange City
V1 advised during an argument that D1 grabbed her by her wrists against her will. No injuries were reported or observed. D1 left the residence prior to arrival of deputies. W1 corroborated statements by V1. Investigation revealed D1 had prior convictions for domestic battery, and is currently on probation for battery. An affidavit was completed and will be passed on to oncoming shifts. Case is active.
V1 contacted the Sheriff's Office and reported her fiancé, D1, choked her during an argument. Investigation revealed V1 and D1 were arguing, at which time D1 pushed V1 to the ground and choked her. V1 struck D1 with a metal device while she was being choked, causing minor injury to D1's head and face. The incident was witnessed by W1, who is V1's visiting juvenile grandchild. D1 was transported to Halifax Medical Center for medical clearance prior to transport to the jail. D1 was subsequently charged with Felony Battery- Domestic by Strangulation. Case is cleared by arrest and forwarded to DCF for review.
180027965, W/M, Orange City- DV battery (Graves)
Deputies responded to a domestic complaint. V1 advised she and her husband, D1, were in a verbal argument which escalated when D1 pushed her, then grabbed her around her neck. V1 advised she did not lose consciousness. D1 was interviewed and his story was inconsistent with the events that transpired. V1 had red marks around her neck, which were photographed. D1 was arrested for Battery/DV and transported to VCBJ.
18-27932 B/M, Debary, simple battery(DV) (Deputy Barnes)
D-1 and V-1 are husband and wife and were involved in a verbal argument. D-1 was intoxicated and accused V-1 of being unfaithful. D-1 then jumped on top of V-1 in the bedroom and struck her in the face. V-1 then used pepper spray on D-1 to defend herself. W-1, a juvenile, heard the commotion and pulled D-1 off V-1. There were no visible injuries, and both parties refused medical treatment. D-1 was arrested for simple battery. A copy of the report was faxed to DCF.

18-27868 W/M, Debary, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon/battery on a person 65 years or older (Deputy Custer).
V-1 and D-1 were involved in a verbal argument while having dinner together. V-1 and D-1 have been married for approximately 49 years. D-1 reached across the dinner table and slapped V-1 across the right side of her head. D-1 then retrieved a firearm from the bedroom and held it to the back of V-1's head. D-1 admitted to pointing the firearm at V-1. The firearm was seized and submitted for evidence. D-1 was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery on a person 65 years or older. V-1 did not sustain any injuries. A Risk Protection Order was completed for review.

(R1) reported an unknown white male entered the screened porch area of the Eagles Lodge, 156 E. Michigan Avenue, Orange City, and stole a used deep fryer. Said incident occurred on 11/26/2018 at approximately 2310 hours. (O1) was seen in the area of the screened porch earlier in the day, looking for discarded cigarette butts. During an interview, O1 denied any involvement.

R1 reported the neighborhood security gate for Meadowlea on the River was damaged on 11/06/18 at approximately 0226 hours when it was rammed by a vehicle. The estimated cost of repair for the gate was approximately $5,000. R1 wished to pursue criminal charges on behalf of the HOA. Case continued to Deputy Otte.

Deputy Custer responded to Orange City in reference to a domestic violence battery and false imprisonment incident which had occurred earlier in the day. As Deputy Custer was in the process of securing D1 in handcuffs, D1 pulled his arms away and fled on foot. A foot pursuit ensued, and D1 was apprehended after a successful Taser deployment. D1 was charged with Escape, False Imprisonment, Battery, and Resisting Arrest Without Violence. D1 was transported to VCBJ. There were no injuries as a result of the response to resistance. The Watch Commander was notified.

N1 responded to the LOI for a well-being check on his brother after he could not reach him by phone. N1 discovered V1 was deceased on the couch. Deputies observed no signs of foul play or injuries/trauma to V1. V1 had a variety of mental health disorders, cardiac problems, and was disabled due to a pre-existing injury. V1 did not have a primary care doctor. Medical examiner was notified and accepted jurisdiction. ME livery responded and took possession of V1.

W1- John E. Jackson, W/M, 10/22/1959, 139 Caracas Road, Debary
Jackson (W1) and S1 were in an argument about S1 refusing to leave Jackson's residence. Jackson called Rivera (V1) to request assistance with removing S1. Rivera and S1 were arguing and S1 punched Rivera. Rivera and S1 were engaged in a fist fight with both parties striking each other. S1 entered the house and returned with a kitchen knife. S1 told Rivera "I will kill you." S1 stabbed Rivera once in the center of the back and once on the upper neck. Rivera received non-life threatening injuries. S1 fled the scene on foot prior to the arrival of deputies. Deputies searched the area and contacted S1's family with negative results in locating him.
Deputy Santos completed a SA-707 Affidavit and placed it in the District 6 Pass-On Affidavit Book. The oncoming shift was notified of the active charges.

V1- M&K Used Auto Parts, 3100 N. Sparkman Avenue, Orange City
R1- Timothy A. McMillion, W/M, 10/04/1968, 3100 N. Sparkman Avenue, Orange City
McMillion (R1) is the owner of M&K Used Auto Parts. McMillion stated on 10/22/2018, his business sold a car engine to S1 for $1,500. S1 used a credit card to make the purchase and the engine was shipped to Eric J Automotive in Columbus, Ohio. On 11/24/2018, the charge was disputed, and determined to be fraudulent. The money was removed from M&K Auto's account. Efforts to contact (S1) and Eric J Automotive have been unsuccessful.
Deputy Wallis is conducting further investigation. Case Status: Active
