V1 and her live-in boyfriend, D1, were engaged in a verbal argument that turned physical when D1 slapped V1 in the face. V1 retrieved her cell phone from her pocket to call for assistance and D1 took the phone away from V1. D1 then proceeded to destroy the cell phone by slamming it on the floor. After V1 retrieved her phone from the floor, D1 shoved V1 into a wooden table. The altercation ceased and D1 left in his vehicle. V1 suffered minor injuries. Deputies canvassed the area and located D1's vehicle unoccupied a short distance away. When deputies returned to the residence a short time later, deputies located D1 sitting inside V1's vehicle in the driveway. D1 was arrested and transported to jail. D1 was charged with simple battery (domestic violence) and tampering with a witness (depriving use of 911).

Deputy Davis responded to New Smyrna Beach High School in reference to a threat by a student to harm another student. V1 and D1 have had ongoing issues which escalated to a physical fight on 09/05/18 in which V1 sustained significant injuries, and D1 was charged with Battery. On today's date, a video posted on social media via Instagram was brought to the attention of administrators. Upon arrival, Deputy Davis reviewed the video which showed D1 making threats to harm V1 when she returned to school. D1 was wielding a kitchen knife in a stabbing manner and stated she was going to stab V1 and "catch a murder charge." D1 was interviewed at her home, and she admitted to making the video. D1 was charged with Written Threats to Kill or Injure, a felony, and was transported to DJJ. Director Quann was notified.

V1 and D1 are cousins who have never resided together as a family unit. D2 is D1's boyfriend. V1 reported D1 and D2 walked over to his residence and a verbal argument commenced. The argument escalated when D1 began to slap V1. V1 threw his arm in the air in self-defense, which caused D1 to fall to the ground. D2 reacted by shoving and punching V1. The incident was observed by independent witnesses. D1 and D2 were both charged with Battery and transported to VCBJ.
Deputies responded to the area of Taylor Road and Tomoka Farms Road in reference to a battery witnessed by a clerk at the Circle K. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with V1 and D1 who are dating and have been residing together for approximately two years. The investigation revealed D1 punched V1 in the side of the neck and grabbed her forcefully by the arms. D1 was charged with DV Battery and transported to VCBJ.
