Deputy Blum was at the 7-Eleven when he was flagged down by R1 about a shoplifting. R1 advised that D1 had attempted to buy alcohol past 0200 hours and when she was denied the sale, left the store with the items anyway without paying. Deputy Blum quickly located D1, who was taken into custody and initially provided a name with no associated record. Deputy Blum therefore retrieved his Rapid ID device and when he was trying to obtain a fingerprint, D1 grabbed and twisted his arm.
Eventually, D1 was positively identified and was taken to the Branch Jail on charges of shoplifting, providing false name to LEO and battery LEO.
