‘FELONY LANE’ SUSPECTS SPOTTED BY DEPUTIES IN DELTONA, 2 ARRESTED

Yesterday, deputies with our Deltona Narcotics Enforcement Team and Crime Suppression Team were working a proactive operation in the area of Normandy and Providence boulevards when a Chevrolet Impala and Dodge Charger pulled up in a Winn-Dixie parking lot. The occupants switched tags on their vehicles.

The Impala pulled into the Wells Fargo bank nearby while the Charger waited at the KFC next door. The female driver of the Impala pulled into the drive through of the bank. It was later discovered she tried to cash a $1,400 check using the identity of a victim of a car break in Lake County.

Deputies converged on the Impala. The female driver, pinned in the drive through, attempted to back out and struck a vehicle behind her. A male passenger jumped out of the impala, ran from a pursuing deputy and hopped into the Charger. It sped away as Deputy Richardson tried to pull him out, then disengaged to avoid being dragged by the vehicle.

The driver of the Impala, Peggy M. Larsen (DOB 09/18/77) of Fort Lauderdale, was taken into custody as other deputies responded to the fleeing Charger.

The Charger fled down Providence for a few blocks before deputies succeeded with a stop stick hit. The driver and passengers bailed on foot. The male passenger who was originally in the Impala, Courtney Walker (DOB 12/17/87) of Dania Beach, got out of the back seat into the driver’s seat and fled again. Ultimately, Walker bailed out from the Dodge near Providence and Howland and was apprehended by Deputy Whitson and K-9 Endo.

One wig was located in the Charger. Multiple wigs, purses and wallets were seen in plain view inside the Impala.

There were no injuries to deputies or anyone else in the incidents. The other occupants of the Charger were not immediately located.

Larsen was charged with refusing to stop after an order, attempting to use the ID of another without consent, unlawful possession of personal ID of another, unlawful possession of a stolen credit/debit card, passing a forged check and operating a vehicle with a suspended/revoked license. She was released overnight after posting $30,500 bond.

Walker was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement and driving while license suspended/revoked (habitual offender). He was released later Thursday night after posting $8,000 bond.
