VCSO Arrests Ormond Beach Couple for Possessing Child Porn
Husband Also Charged With Failing to Register As Sex Offender

Volusia County sheriff’s detectives have arrested an Ormond Beach couple and charged them with multiple counts of possessing child pornography.

Patrick Stephens, 50 (DOB 7/28/1968) of 732 Orchard Ave., Ormond Beach, is charged with three counts of possessing photos and videos depicting sexual performance of a child. He’s also charged with failure to register as a sex offender.

His wife, Toni Zorda, 54 (DOB 3/25/1964) is charged with 30 counts of possessing child porn.

Detectives with the VCSO’s Child Exploitation Unit began investigating the couple in November 2018.

On Dec. 3, 2018, they executed a search warrant at the couple’s home. Stephens was initially arrested during a traffic stop on Dec. 3 on a warrant for failing to properly register as a sex offender with previous felony charges. He is a court-ordered sex offender after being convicted of possessing child porn in Georgia in August 2000.

On Dec. 3, Stephens was returned to his home where he was interviewed by detectives before being transport to the Volusia County jail. During the search at the couple’s home, multiple items of evidence were seized. Further investigation revealed more than 2,300 photos/videos of girls between 5 and 12 years old portrayed in sexually explicit situations.

On Thursday, arrest warrants were issued for both individuals. Stephens remains in custody on the previous charges of four counts of failure to register as a sex offender and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The new charges are three counts of possession of sexual performance by a child. His bail is set at $75,000.

Zorda was arrested at home Thursday and transported to the Volusia County jail. She is also being held on $75,000 bail.

More charges are possible as detectives search for any additional potential victims of sexual exploitation. Anyone who may have been a victim of this suspect or any similar case is urged to call the Child Exploitation Unit at (386) 323-3574.
