SHERIFF’S DETECTIVES INVESTIGATING SUSPICIOUS DEATH IN ORANGE CITY AREA

Volusia sheriff’s detectives are investigating a suspicious death discovered Thursday night in the Orange City area.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of Foothill Farms Road, Orange City, around 8:15 p.m. Thursday. The victim was identified as 52-year-old Chris Kimmel (DOB 8/30/1967) of Orange City.

The Sheriff’s Office Major Case Unit is leading the investigation, and anyone with information is asked to call 386-254-1537. No further information is available for release at this point in the active investigation. Updates will be provided as they become available in the future.
