Deputies responded to Oak Hill regarding a mentally ill person. Contact was made with V-1, who was in the street in front of the residence. He was distraught over his personal life and relationship issues. V-1 previously punched the walls of the residence, armed himself with a knife and made statements about wishing to harm himself. Deputy Maxwell confirmed the information with V-1's mother, R-1. V-1 was placed into protective custody under the Baker Act and transported to Halifax Medical Center.

V-1 advised that she hired S-1 to do some maintenance on her residence. After S-1 left the residence, she discovered her deceased husband's guitar missing. V-1 could not provide a make, model, or serial number for the guitar. No other items were missing and there no signs of entry to the residence. Contact could not be made with S-1 at this time. Later in the day V-1 contacted the Sheriff's Office and stated the guitar had "returned" and that she no longer needed law enforcement assistance. A supplement was completed to close the case.

Deputies responded to 100 Ingham Road Lot 13 in New Smyrna Beach in reference to an unresponsive female. It was determined V-1 was deceased in the bedroom area of her camper. N-2 advised she was unable to reach V-1, her mother, all day on Friday and was concerned for her well being. Upon receiving no response when knocking on the door, N-2 forced entry to the camper, at which time V-1 was discovered lying face down on the floor. N-2 advised V-1 suffered from Hepatitis and high blood pressure, and was also a frequent user of crack cocaine. N-2 advised V-1 did not have a primary care physician. N-2 said she last saw V-1 on Thursday, 05-17-2018, during the mid-afternoon hours. N-1 also responded to the scene.
On-call Investigative supervisor was contacted and notified of the details of the incident. The Watch Commander was also notified of the incident. The Medical Examiner was contacted and elected jurisdiction. The scene was photographed and the trailer was sealed with the use of evidence tape after V-1 was removed from the scene.

Deputies responded in reference to a disturbance involving V-1 and D-1, who are mother and daughter and live together as a family. Both were initially arguing over D-1 wanting to upgrade her cellular phone. V-1 advised D-1 she was not getting a phone due to her grades being unsatisfactory. V-1 attempted to exit D-1's bedroom, when D-1 blocked her path. V-1 attempted to walk past D-1, at which time D-1 pushed her. V-1 then slapped D-1 in the face and then a physical struggle ensued. V-1 received scratches to the tricep areas on her arms. D-1 gave a similar account of events, with slight variations on the order of events. Deputy Maxwell's investigation revealed D-1 was the primary aggressor in the incident. She was arrested on a charge of simple battery (DV) and transported to the District 3 South office for processing. Upon reviewing the paperwork, DJJ denied secure detention and D-1 was subsequently released to the custody of V-1.

V1 stated she was at work at Lido Carbaret in Cocoa Beach when her boyfriend, D1, came in. D1 wanted to talk with V1 so they went to his truck in the parking lot. They two began to argue and D1 started driving. V1 told him to stop the vehicle and D1 punched her in the face several times and continued driving. As they entered Volusia County on Kennedy Parkway V1 began to fight back. D1 lost control of the vehicle and slide off the roadway. V1 attempted to get out of the vehicle and D1 grabbed her by the throat and started choking and hitting her. V1 was able to get out of the vehicle and run down the road. BCSO was advised and responded to Oak Hill to conduct their investigation with V1.
Connecting cases 18-11656 and 18-11678
On the evening of May 16th, deputies investigated two camper trailers that had been burglarized inside a fenced in compound behind Robin's Sheds main display property. This fenced in compound stored many trailers, cars, trucks and portable sheds. Mr. Mike Russell's 20 foot by 20 foot shed was forcibly entered by cutting the hasp off of the garage door and stealing five items (power tools, a generator and bolt cutters) valued at $920. These items were hidden inside the burglarized camper belonging to Mr. Warner. 18-11678.
These items were photographed by Sergeant Turner and returned to Mr. Russell. They had already been processed by the night shift. Mr. Russell said that he has accounted for all of his property and will prosecute any suspect. These cases are being investigated by the EDU. (Howard and Sgt. Turner)

On 05/17/2018 at approximately 1141 hours, Deputy Stewart responded to 116 South Street within the city of Oak Hill, in reference to a theft of two window air conditioning units. Upon arrival Deputy Stewart met with the victim and property owner, V-1 Lu Lawrence. V-1 advised she was renovating the trailer in order to rent it out again. V-1 explained on 05-01-2018 she had 2 unknown make and model window air conditioners at the trailer. V-1 told Deputy Stewart upon her return on 05-17-18 both window units were missing from the windows. Case is continued to Deputy Stewart for further investigation.

V1 stated she attempted to wake her husband, D1, up. When he did not respond she attempted to pick him up off of the couch. D1 woke up and threw V1 to the floor and grabbed her by the neck and held her down. D1 was arrested and transported to VCBJ.
V1 reported his motorhome had been vandalized and broken into. V1 told Deputy Bifano he went to the storage lot to start his RV and noticed the side door and been pried open and the rear window had been smashed out from the inside. V1 stated he was missing a propane tank and a case of wine coolers were missing.

V1 was contacted by Deputy Bifano in reference to the rear window being smashed out and the side door being pried open on his RV. V1 responded to the storage lot and could not tell in if anything was missing but several items in the RV that were not his. V1 stated the last time he checked on his RV was in November of 2017 however he did not go in it. In the RV there was a generator, bicycle and several power tools and other misc items. Also inside the RV was the propane tank taken from case #18-11678. It also appeared as if someone has been living in the in the RV.
District Three South CID was notified. Sgt. Turner advised Deputy Bifano to secure the RV and they would handle sorting the property.

Sgt. Hansard responded to 4410 Indian River Drive in Edgewater and made contact with V-1, regarding the report of a stolen 1993 Nissan pickup. V-1 alleged between 1500-hrs, on 05-14-2018, and 1500-hrs, on 05-15-2018, her truck was stolen from in front of the residence. She advised the truck was unlocked, while parked near the roadway. She advised she was in possession of the keys for the vehicle. A check of the Florida tag revealed the Osceola County Sheriff's Office entered the truck into databases as an abandoned vehicle on 05-15-2018. It was abandoned by an unknown male suspect during a retail theft. The truck was towed pending contact of V-1.
Sgt. Hansard provided V-1 with the current location of her truck and instructed her to contact the tow company in Kissimmee on 05-16-2018.
It should be noted that V-1 had a difficult time providing details surrounding the theft of her truck. These included time periods, the location of a second set of keys and a four hour time lapse between discovering the truck was gone and when she reported the incident.

Deputy Walsh responded to Oak Hill regarding a domestic disturbance. It was determined V-1, W-1 and D-1 live together in the residence as a family. On this night, V-1 and D-1 were arguing. V-1 said he was lying in his bed when D-1 spit in his face. He said he then walked into the kitchen, where D-1 lunged at him like she was going to punch him. However, she pushed him in the chest with both hands, causing him to fall to the floor and strike his neck on a step beneath the counter. V-1 said D-1 left the residence prior to the arrival of law enforcement. W-1 corroborated V-1's account of events.
D-1 was stopped in the 4100 block of Ridgewood Ave, while driving her white Jaguar vehicle. She denied striking D-1, and stated he tripped over the family dog. She advised she was arguing with W-1 when he was trying to get money from V-1.
When V-1 got out of bed and began walking to the kitchen, the dog became excited and got under V-1's feet, causing him to trip.
Deputy Walsh's investigation revealed D-1 was the primary aggressor. She was arrested and transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail under no bond allowed. D-1 was charged with Battery on a Person Over 65 years of age.

W-1 advised that she drove past the listed location and observed a dog running around the yard, a firearm lying in the yard, and the front door ajar with damage. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the residence had been burglarized. V-1 arrived at the residence and stated that only a ring and a bracelet were taken. The firearm was placed into evidence.

Deputy Erlandson responded to 2124 Springwater Lane in Port Orange in reference to a vehicle burglary. V-1 advised on 05-11-2018, he discovered his .40-caliber firearm, spare magazine and an unknown amount of change were missing from his vehicle. He last knew the items were present when he placed the firearm there on 05-09-2018. No evidence of forced entry to the vehicle and V-1 visited several areas in South Daytona between 05-09 and 05-11-2018. No video surveillance was located in the immediate surrounding area.

V-1 came to the District 3 office to advise that her vehicle, a 2011 Hyundai, was burglarized over the weekend at a park in Osteen. V-1 stated that her vehicle was parked and unattended on Saturday at the Lemon Bluff Boat Ramp in Osteen. When she returned to the vehicle later in the day, she discovered her passenger window broken. Further inspection revealed that she was missing her purse, driver's license, debit card, $50.00 currency, a concealed weapon license, and a firearm. V-1 did not have the serial numbers for the firearm and she did not bring her vehicle as it was being repaired. The debit card was used for purchases outside of Volusia County. The report was forwarded to District 4 for investigation.

V-1 was the passenger of a vehicle driven by his father O-2 which was stopped by Deputy Hudson at the above location. A computer check revealed V-1 was reported missing. The missing person hit was confirmed which listed O-1 as V-1's legal guardian. O-1 was notified and met Deputy Hudson at the District 3 South office. Deputy Hudson turned V-1 over to O-1. V-1 was in good health and reported nothing suspicious. O-2 was issued a criminal citation for DWLS see connecting case number 18-11389. Case closed.

District 3 CST received information that a green Ford Explorer bearing Florida tag Y33-WSE was in the area of International Speedway Boulevard and S. Clyde Morris Boulevard. This vehicle recently fled from CST and was believed to be occupied by D1 who had several outstanding arrest warrants and an active writ of bodily attachment for failure to pay child support. D1 was also wanted by CST from the previous fleeing/eluding incident. CST located the vehicle traveling southbound on S. Clyde Morris Blvd., towards Port Orange. CST followed the vehicle undetected until Air 1 was overhead, in preparation for the vehicle to flee. CST eventually initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle fled. CST disengaged the vehicle and deactivated all emergency equipment. As the vehicle continued to flee and with no VCSO personnel immediately behind the vehicle, the vehicle side-swiped a motorist while driving through a red traffic light at S. Clyde Morris Boulevard and Willow Run Boulevard, which caused no injuries. Air 1 maintained a visual on the vehicle until the D1 bailed and ran on foot. CST and a VCSO K-9 converged into the area and took D1 into custody without further incident. In addition to the active warrants, D1 was charged with aggravated fleeing/eluding LEO, possession of cocaine, possession of heroin, driving while license suspended/habitual traffic offender, and resisting without violence. D1 received additional charges from the Port Orange Police Department regarding the crash.

District 3 CST spotted a stolen Ford Explorer bearing Florida tag CZR-A61, traveling southbound on Ridgewood Avenue. The vehicle was reported stolen out of Jacksonville FL. CST followed the vehicle undetected until AIR 1 was overhead. CST initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle pulled over in the 3200 block of N. Dixie Freeway in New Smyrna Beach. The driver, O1, was removed from the vehicle and detained without incident. O1 stated she was borrowing the vehicle from her boyfriend, O2, and was unaware the vehicle was reported stolen. O2 was contacted via telephone and agreed to meet with deputies. O2 arrived on scene and was cooperative during the investigation. O2 stated he recently purchased the vehicle from a friend, O3, who resides in Jacksonville. At the conclusion of the traffic stop, O3 was determined to be responsible for the vehicle theft. O3 is currently in custody at the Duval County Jail on several unrelated charges. CST will follow-up with detectives from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office on a later date. The vehicle owner was contacted and made aware of the vehicle recovery.

On Friday 05-11-18 at approximately 0942 hours Deputy Proctor responded to Robin Sheds located at 560 North US Highway 1, Oak Hill, Florida in reference to a business burglary.
Upon arrival Deputy Proctor contacted Christopher Hilaman (V1) who is the sole owner of Robin Sheds. (V1) advised sometime overnight persons unknown burglarized his office taking only the spare set of keys to his 2009 Ford F-350 bearing FL tag CGTE50. (V1)'s vehicle was parked just outside of his office building on the south side. Persons unknown stole (V1)'s vehicle using the keys stolen from the office building. (V1)'s vehicle contained a cut saw, reciprocating saw, jig saw and envelope containing U.S. currency. Deputy Proctor processed the scene and took photos. No latent prints were found. The stolen vehicle was entered into NCIC/FCIC and NC-4. Case is continued for further investigation.

Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance between V-1 and D-1, who live together as a couple and have children in common. V-1 reported D-1 was intoxicated tonight and was trying to leave the residence in his vehicle. She said she took D-1's vehicle keys and they argued. The fight turned physical, resulting in D-1 pushing V-1 to the ground by her face. The incident was witnessed by their young daughter, who corroborated V-1's version of events. Deputy Maxwell's investigation revealed D-1 was the primary aggressor. He was arrested and transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail under no bond conditions on charges of simple battery DV.
Deputies responded to Oak Hill regarding a domestic disturbance between V-1 and D-1, who are father/son and live together as a family. On this night, D-1 was drinking alcohol, and attempted to get money from V-1 to purchase more alcohol. When V-1 refused, D-1 pinned V-1 to the couch and was repeatedly forcing his head downward. The incident was witnessed by W-1, who is V-1's wife and D-1's mother. Deputy Walsh's investigation revealed D-1 was the primary aggressor. He was arrested and transported to VCBJ on the charge of simple battery DV.

V-1 advised that the listed location is for sale. He discovered at 0700 hrs this date that the control wire had been severed. The item was last seen intact on 05-04-18. No evidence or suspect information could be gathered at the scene.

V-1 answered an internet ad to rent a home on Ellison Avenue. V-1 transferred approx. $3,000.00 through a service for the rental without actually seeing it. V-1 then discovered that the actual owner was not renting the home and was not who she was in contact with.
V-1 began an online "relationship" with S-1 during the month of September in 2017. V-1 sent explicit digital images of herself to S-1 during that time. V-1 ended the relationship in April and S-1 has been sending texts to her and mother V-2 since that time. S-1 has been sending the explicit digital images back to V-1 and to V-2 along with harassing texts. V-1 is not sure of S-1's identity or his state of residence.

Deputy Weaver stopped D1 who was in the park after closing. Deputy Weaver ran D1's name and found she had an open warrant. When Deputy Weaver attempted to arrest D1 and place one hand cuff on her she began to resist. They fell to the ground and D1 fought to get back up. D1 was able to push Deputy Weaver away and took off running. Deputy Weaver deployed his Taser however the probes got caught up in D1's baggy sweat shirt and she continued to run. Deputy Weaver chased her to the Aloha Motel where she was taken into custody. In addition to the warrant D1 was charge with escape, resisting with violence and battery on LEO.

V1 discovered the front door of her residence kicked in. V1 stated she left her residence on 05/08/2018 at 0930 and returned home the same date at 1745 hours. Unknown suspect(S) ransacked the residence and stole the following items; green Peridot earrings, green Peridot necklace, Tanzanite earrings, yellow gold diamond earrings, rope style yellow gold necklace, white gold diamond earrings, gold Seiko female watch, Emerald and Ruby yellow gold necklace, Emerald and Ruby yellow gold earrings, Emerald and Ruby yellow gold bracelet and a jug of loose change. All items were located within V1's bedroom.

On Tuesday, 05/08/2018 at approximately 1258 hours, Deputy Hammond responded to 875 Catfish Ave, New Smyrna Beach in reference to a stolen kayak. Upon arrival, Deputy Hammond made contact with (V1), who advised one of his kayaks had been stolen from his backyard. (V1) last seen the Kayak laying in his backyard on Saturday, 05/05/2018 at approximately 1200 hours and did not notice the kayak was gone until today. (V1) stated the stolen kayak was one of two he had purchased; the kayaks are exactly identical. Hogan (V1) advised the yellow kayak had no serial numbers or other identifying marks. Deputy Hammond conducted an area canvass with negative results. As of this time there are no suspects, evidence or witnesses. Case will be active for an additional follow up.

Deputy Hammond responded to the above address in reference to a car break. Upon arrival contact was made with V-1. V-1 reported sometime overnight unknown persons burglarized her unlocked silver 2004 Chevrolet passenger car. V-1 listed her wallet as stolen which contained her Florida D.L., SS Card, Debit card and other miscellaneous cards. V-1 was told to cancel all cards and contact her bank. Deputy Hammond processed the vehicle and conducted a neighborhood canvass. No suspects, evidence to witnesses were developed. Case will be active pending further follow up.
