6 warrants served at the jail.
On 06-20-19 at 1742 hours, several deputies, Daytona Beach Police officers, and FHP troopers responded to the Bellevue and Interstate 95 overpass bridge in reference to a male subject, later identified as V1, threatening to jump off the bridge.
FHP, with the assistance of deputies, shut down north and southbound Interstate 95 to prevent traffic from striking V1 in case he jumped. Rescue units were also summoned to the location as a precautionary measure.
V1 advised deputies he wanted to kill himself by jumping off the bridge because he had lost his business and his family wanted nothing to do with him because of his drug addiction. Several deputies and officers from the Daytona Beach Police Department continued dialog with V1 to prevent V1 from jumping off the bridge.
Sheriff's Office negotiators responded to the scene. After extensive dialog by the negotiations teams, V1 surrendered to them without incident. Due to V1 being an imminent danger to himself, he was secured under Baker Act and transported to Halifax Health Medical Center, Daytona Beach, without incident.
D1, a juvenile, fled in a vehicle from a traffic stop by OBPD. (180600394) The OBPD officer provided a tag for the vehicle, which was registered to an address on beachside. Deputy Greene observed the vehicle northbound on John Anderson Dr. and the vehicle fled from him as well. Several units responded to the registered owner's residence and made contact with D1 and the passenger of the vehicle, who was the owner's son. D1 was identified by Deputy Greene and the OBPD officer as the driver. VCSO charged D1 with fleeing and eluding. D1 and the vehicle were turned over to OBPD.

Deputies responded to 1469 Continental Drive, Daytona Beach, in reference to a vehicle burglary. Upon arrival, deputies contacted V1, who stated unknown suspect(s) entered her unlocked vehicle and stole a Garmin GPS (unknown serial number). Case Active.

Deputy Erlandson conducted a traffic stop on a blue passenger car. Before he could call out with the traffic stop, the vehicle reversed out of the driveway causing Deputy Erlandson to reverse his vehicle to avoid a collision. The vehicle fled and was not located by Air One or other responding units. Deputy Erlandon later discovered the vehicle did impact his patrol vehicle causing minor transfer paint marks to his bumper. Deputy Erlandson was uninjured and completed an aggravated assault report in reference to the incident. The watch commander was notified.
The Orange City Police Department had a grand theft case where two subjects stole a display laptop computer from the Office Depot in their jurisdiction. (OCPD 18-1778) The suspects were seen fleeing in a green Chevy Malibu (FL- 0611XT). An officer from OCPD attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle and it fled eastbound on Interstate 4.
A few minutes later, Deputy Webb acquired the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop on LPGA Blvd., near the Daytona Beach municipal stadium. The vehicle fled from the attempted traffic stop. Sgt. Hattaway successfully deployed stop sticks, impacting the passenger's side front tire of the vehicle, near the intersection of Tomoka Farms Rd. and LPGA Blvd.
Several other units spotted the vehicle as it traveled on LPGA Blvd. The suspects parked the vehicle behind the Twin Lakes Medical Center and fled into the woods. The passenger, Jay Deggs (D2), was apprehended just inside the wood line, without incident. The driver, James Sayre (D1) was arrested after a K-9 apprehension by Deputy Webb. D1 was transported to the hospital for injuries he sustained from the K-9 apprehension and was medically cleared. Both D1 and D2 were transported to the jail.
D1 was charged by the Sheriff's Office for fleeing and eluding, resisting without, and DWLS. D2 was charged by the Sheriff's Office with resisting without and open warrants for grand theft. (18-14320)
D1 was also charged by OCPD for fleeing and eluding. D1 and D2 were both charged with felony retail theft by OCPD.
The watch commander was on scene and completed the Blue Team paperwork.

Deputy Schindelheim attempted a traffic stop of a black 4-door, which fled from him at ISB and Indian Lake. Vehicle was last seen headed westbound on ISB and was later Identified and stop-sticked by District 2 units around ISB and West Parkway. Occupants bailed from the vehicle at ISB and Marsh and were apprehended by District 2 Units with assistance from AIR 1. Vehicle was reported stolen by Seminole County Sheriff's Office 06/06/2018. Units responded to a well-being check at the above location. Upon arrival, Fire / Rescue directed units to an unresponsive person in the back yard. Resuscitation efforts met with negative results, East side Detective Units are investigating. COC notified of Incident. Case is active. The death was determined to be a suicide. Next of kin was notified..

A motorist turned into a marked patrol vehicle that was already occupying the turn lane from eastbound U.S. 92 to LPGA. No injuries. Minor damage to patrol vehicle; moderate damage to other vehicle.
Family members report that V1 had threatened to shoot himself with a .25 cal handgun. The juvenile subject was reported to be on the back porch of his residence, but was not located by deputies upon arrival. The incident was discovered to have a 15-minute lag time in reporting and the subject fled prior to arrival of deputies. Deputies located the subject running behind the plaza at Seaview & State Road A1A. He was taken into custody w/o incident and transported to Halifax Health Medical Center for evaluation. The firearm was located and submitted to Evidence; subject advised it may be a stolen firearm. The subject has warrants for his arrest; hospital staff was notified to contact VCSO prior to him being discharged.
V1 was Baker Acted after telling her mother she wanted to harm herself as she reportedly held a boxcutter to her abdomen. Parent and patient were driving westbound on SR 40 when this occurred.

On 06/16/18 at approximately 0941 hours, Deputy Wilson responded to the Holly Hill Police Department, in reference to a theft that occurred at the 7Eleven, located at 1200 Flomich St, Daytona Beach. Upon arrival, Deputy Wilson made contact with Amanda Hunter (V1), who reported the following:
Hunter advised on 06/15/18 at approximately 1500 hours, she walked in the aforementioned 7Eleven convenience store, with her wallet. Hunter stated she unknowingly dropped the wallet in the store, and was unable to find it. Hunter advised the wallet was only worth $3; however, she had cash inside the wallet, along with her Wells Fargo bank card, Florida driver's license, Social Security card, EBT card, and her son's medical ID card. Hunter completed a sworn written statement and advised she wished to pursue criminal charges.
Deputy Wilson provided Hunter a VCSO business card with the corresponding case number, and also encouraged her to contact Wells Fargo to cancel her bank card. Case Status: Active
On June 16, 2018, at approximately 1314 hours, Deputy Corbin responded to lot # 54 in the Holiday Village Mobile Home Park located at 1335 Fleming Avenue, Ormond Beach, in reference to a reported residential burglary.
Upon arrival, Deputies made contact with Thomas J. Demaintenon (V1). Demaintenon advised he was the owner of lot # 54 inside the mobile home park. Demaintenon advised an unknown person(s) stole a bicycle owned by Trinkett B. Jarvis (V2) from the covered carport attached to his residence. Demaintenon advised the theft occurred on 06/16/18, sometime between 0800 and 0930 hours. During an on-scene interview with Demaintenon, he stated Jarvis was an acquaintance of his he met through a former place of employment. Demaintenon stated Jarvis contacted him to repair two bicycles for her. Demaintenon stated he has been in possession of two bicycles belonging to Jarvis for approximately six weeks. Demaintenon stated he parked both of Jarvis' bicycles underneath his carport to complete repairs on them. Demaintenon stated one bicycle was not functional. Demaintenon advised the other bicycle, capable of being ridden, was stolen. Demaintenon described the stolen bicycle as:
A white 26" women's style Sun Cruiser bicycle (Unknown serial number), with a bend in the left handlebar and no brake cables.
Jarvis was provided with a VCSO case number. Case Status: Active

V-1 was recovered as missing and taken into protective custody under Baker Act reference case number 18-14118.
Deputies responded to the above address in reference to a suicidal person. Upon arrival, deputies were unable to contact V1 at his residence. R1 was contacted, and advised V1 made suicidal statements to her. Deputies utilized investigative resources in attempt to locate V1, with negative results. Deputies continually attempted to locate V1 at his residence, with negative results. V1 was entered into databases as missing/endangered. Lt McKnight was notified. Case is active. Subject was later located and transported under the Baker Act (see above entry).

V1 was found deceased by his roommate. There was no signs of trauma to V1's body and nothing suspicious was noted within the room. V1's doctor advised V1 suffered from high blood pressure and several cardiac conditions. The doctor advised he would sign. V1's body was removed by livery and the next-of-kin was notified.

A silver 4-door Honda fled from a traffic stop by Deputy Wagers. Air One was in the area and followed the vehicle to 1050 3rd St., where D1 fled from the car. Patrol and CST contained the area. An on-scene investigation revealed D1 was the driver of the vehicle. The vehicle was towed. D1 was arrested for fleeing and eluding and possession of cannabis.

A silver 4-door Chevy fled from a traffic stop by Deputy Bayne. The Ormond Beach Police Department successfully deployed stop sticks on the vehicle. Units lost sight of the vehicle. Later in the shift, CST located the vehicle abandoned in the 1300 block of Old Kings Rd. Contact was made with the owner. An onscene investigation revealed S1 contacted the registered owner's friend and stated he fled from law enforcement in the vehicle and abandoned it. The vehicle was processed and towed from the scene. Case active to Deputy Bayne.

District 3 CST attempted a traffic stop on a red Chevrolet Impala (FL tag CEY-5233) in the 1200 block of Leon Lane. The driver immediately bailed from the vehicle and allowed the vehicle to roll into a chain-link fence at 1224 Leon Lane. CST approached the vehicle and ordered the passenger, D1, to show his hands. CST noticed D1 was trying to conceal a handgun between the front seat and center console. D1 eventually dropped the gun and fled from the vehicle on foot. CST gave chase and took D1 into custody without incident. A perimeter was established and a K-9 team was deployed in an effort to locate the driver, but to no avail. CST recovered the gun (a Ruger LCP .380) from within the vehicle, which was reported stolen out of Edgewater. CST also located a backpack under D1's seat, which contained trafficking amounts of Methamphetamine, trafficking amounts of Oxycodone pills, MDMA pills (Molly), and Diazepam pills. CST discovered D1 had 8 prior felony convictions and was released from prison in 2010 for robbery. CST contacted the owner of the fleeing vehicle, V1, and discovered the vehicle was just stolen from an address in Holly Hill. CST obtained a full confession from D1 regarding possession of the narcotics, possession of the stolen firearm, and the stolen vehicle. D1 was charged with grand theft motor vehicle, armed trafficking Methamphetamine, armed trafficking Oxycodone, possession of a firearm by a FL convicted felon, carrying a concealed firearm, grand theft firearm, possession of MDMA, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, resisting arrest without violence, and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.

V1 got into a verbal argument with his live in girlfriend(D1) over food which resulted in D1 pushing V1 in the chest with both hands. D1 was arrested for simple battery(DV).

District 3 CST spotted a black Cadillac SUV bearing FL tag BMJ2R, traveling northbound on Ridgewood Avenue, in Holly Hill. CST immediately recognized the vehicle as a stolen vehicle, which was reported stolen on 06/12/2018 out of Volusia County (Wilbur-by-the-sea). CST followed the vehicle as it pulled into the parking lot of a pawn shop located at 133 N. Ridgewood Avenue. CST tactically parked behind the vehicle and took both occupants into custody without incident. CST also seized trafficking amounts of Methamphetamine from within the vehicle. The driver, D1, was charged with grand theft motor vehicle, trafficking Methamphetamine >14 grams, possession of narcotic paraphernalia, and driving while license suspended with knowledge/2nd offense. The passenger, D2, was arrested on an active Volusia County warrant.

District 3 CST was conducting proactive patrols in Ormond-by-the-sea, in response to recent vehicle burglaries in the area. CST located a white Lexus utility vehicle bearing FL tag 504-9IF, parked on the shoulder near 7 Aqua Vista Drive. CST immediately recognized the vehicle as a stolen vehicle, which was reported stolen on 06/12/2018 from Ormond-by-the-sea. The vehicle was unoccupied and unlocked. CST processed the vehicle for fingerprints, but to no avail. CST canvassed the area and spoke to several other residents in the area who advised the vehicle had been parked at this location since approximately 0700 hours. The vehicle owner was notified of the recovery. Case Active.
District 3 CST spotted a blue Hyundai passenger car bearing Florida tag Y49-TEB, traveling westbound on Mason Avenue. CST discovered the aforementioned license plate was reported stolen on 06/11/2017 out of Volusia County. CST maintained a visual on the vehicle until Air 1 was overhead, in preparation for the vehicle to flee. Once Air 1 had a visual, CST initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle fled. Air 1 followed the vehicle and provided ground units with updates. CST positioned in the area and successfully deployed Stop-Sticks, which deflated one of the vehicle's tires. The vehicle eventually stopped and the driver, D1, fled on foot. A perimeter was established by CST, District 3 patrol, and the Daytona Police Department. D1 was located and taken into custody without incident. D1 was charged with fleeing/eluding LEO, felony driving while license suspended suspended/3rd or subsequent offense, petit theft, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

V1 advised she is the owner of a white 1999 Lexus RX300 (FL Tag #: 5049IF) and stated at approximately 0615 hours on today's date she noticed her vehicle was stolen from her driveway. V1 advised she last saw her vehicle in her driveway on 06/11/2018 at approximately 2030 hours. V1 stated nobody other than her and her husband had access to the vehicle. V1 advised the vehicle key was inside the ashtray of the vehicle and she must have left the vehicle unlocked. There is no significant identifying marks/damage to the vehicle but there is a Tinkerbell sticker in the center of the rear window. No other evidence was located. The vehicle was entered into FCIC/NCIC as stolen. Case is active.
V1 Barbara Loiacono, W/F, 01-25-44, 22 Cocord Dr, OB
V1 reported he is the owner of a white Chevrolet Caprice Classic sedan bearing GA tag AFC4366. During the morning hours of this date he observed that his vehicle was missing its right front center cap to the wheel. Upon further inspection of the missing item, he noted one of the wheel lug nuts were missing and the stud was broken off. He also observed that his grease cap was missing from the wheel hub. He valued the missing center cap at $100, the damaged lug and stud at $150, and the missing grease cap at $25. He last observed his vehicle in okay condition the evening prior at approximately 1900 hours.

V1 reported sometime between 0200 and 0615 hours on today's date, an unknown person(s) entered his Toyota truck through the unlocked doors. V1 advised he was at the above location visiting his friend. While inside the vehicle, the suspect(s) stole a Glock .40 pistol and a purse belonging to V2. A short time later the purse was recovered at a nearby residence and returned to the victims. The Glock was entered into FCIC/NCIC as stolen. No other evidence was located. Case is active.

Nothing else appeared to be removed to included V1's wallet with cash inside. V1 could not provide the SN# for the pistol. Case is active.

V1 reported her boyfriend, D1, battered her during a dispute at her residence. V1 advised D1 became angry when she declined his sexual advances. V1 advised D1 pushed her over a wicker chair, causing her to hit her head on a nearby cupboard. V1 retreated to a separate room and attempted to close the door but D1 pushed the door open and grabbed her by the throat. V1 advised her airway was restricted and she fell to the ground. D1 fled from the residence, prior to the arrival of deputies. He was later located and arrested.

R1 reported another theft of multiple bottles of liquor, which occurred on 06-08-18.
District 3 CST attempted a traffic stop on a red Chevrolet passenger car bearing Florida tag JDV-Y74. The vehicle fled and was followed by Air 1, who was already in the area assisting CST. The vehicle parked under a tree at 724 Alabama Street and the occupants ran into the residence. CST converged and surrounded the residence. CST gained cooperation from the occupants of the residence and took the passenger of the fleeing vehicle, D2, into custody without incident. The driver, D1, was also located a short distance away and taken into custody without incident. Inside the fleeing vehicle, CST seized a large amount of cannabis. D1 was arrested and charged with fleeing/eluding LEO, possession of cannabis >20 grams, resisting arrest, driving while license suspended with knowledge, and possession of narcotic paraphernalia. D1 also had two outstanding Writs of Bodily Attachments out of Volusia County reference failure to pay child support. D2 was arrested and charged with resisting arrest.

V-1 found by R-1, unresponsive, at home. R-1 stated she knew V-1 had taken heroin earlier during the day, unknown how much. V-1 unable to be revived by Fire Rescue. He was pronounced at the scene. On-call Detectives S. Armine and D. Smith responded, Case active Detective Unit.

District 3 CST observed a blue 2017 Kia Optima traveling westbound on Mason Avenue. CST noticed the vehicle was bearing a FL license plate that was reported stolen out of Daytona Beach on 05/01/2018. CST maintained a visual on the vehicle until Air 1 was overhead. CST initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle fled. Air 1 maintained a visual as the vehicle fled and eventually parked in the 500 block of Washington Street, Daytona Beach. Air 1 observed all four occupants bail from the vehicle and run into a residence. CST quickly established a perimeter and surrounded the residence. CST gained cooperation and all four occupants of the fleeing vehicle eventually surrendered without incident. CST recovered large amounts of cocaine, cannabis, and trafficking amounts of heroin from within the vehicle. At the time of arrest, the driver could not be identified. D1, D2, D3, and D4, were all arrested for resisting arrest. Additional charges are forthcoming.

Deputies attempted an investigative traffic stop on a blue Chevy Malibu, which a white male used in several retail thefts on day shift. A black male bailed out of the vehicle. Felony narcotics and a smart phone utilizing a police scanner application were located in the vehicle. Efforts to locate the suspect with the assistance of canine, Air One, and HHPD, were unsuccessful. The vehicle was towed.

D1 became upset with V1 because V1, a juvenile, would not allow him to use his phone. D1 threatened to strike V1, which placed V1 in fear. D1 appeared to be under the influence of narcotics/alcohol. D1 was subsequently arrested and transported to VCBJ for child abuse with no injuries. DCF was notified via fax. It should be noted, D1 is also currently on felony probation.

V1 reported her vehicle was burglarized sometime between 2200 hours on 06-04-18 and 0700 today. Entry was gained via an unlocked door. US currency was taken from the vehicle. The incident is believed to be related to another conveyance burglary in the area during the same time frame (VCSO case #18-13254). The vehicle was not on scene for processing and no additional leads were obtained.
Deputy Cowger responded in reference to a possible sexual battery. V1 reported she was sexually battered by a known male at the Travel Lodge on 06-03-18. Detectives McGuire and Huffman responded and assumed the investigation

Deputies responded to 1715 Derbyshire Road, Daytona Beach, in reference to a vehicle theft. Upon arrival, deputies contacted V1 who stated her vehicle (a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze bearing FL tag IWPU95) was stolen overnight from the aforementioned location. V1 stated her vehicle was left unlocked with a spare key inside the vehicle. Deputies contacted On-Star who provided the vehicle's location. Deputies located the vehicle unoccupied in the parking lot of the Sleep Inn motel located at 170 Williamson Boulevard, Ormond Beach. Deputies processed the vehicle and recovered several latent fingerprints. Deputies also located video surveillance, which captured the suspect parking the vehicle at approximately 0849 hours. The suspect is then seen walking to Denny's restaurant and appeared to be wearing a Denny's uniform. Deputies contacted the suspect, D1, at Denny's and placed him under arrest. D1 was charged accordingly and transported to the jail. V1 responded to the scene and recovered her vehicle.

Case active.
