SEARCHING
FOR
MISSING
86-YEAR-OLD
DELTONA
WOMAN
The
Volusia
County
Sheriff’s
Office
is
seeking
the
public’s
help in
locating
an
86-year-old
woman
who
wandered
away
from her
home in
Deltona
Wednesday
morning.
Hazel
Robbins
was
reported
missing
by her
son at
10:16
a.m.
According
to the
son,
Robbins
-- who
suffers
from
Alzheimer’s
Disease
and
congestive
heart
failure
-- was
home at
6 a.m.,
but
walked
away
from
their
residence
at 1107
Hastings
Drive
sometime
afterwards.
The son
called
the
Sheriff’s
Office
after he
drove
around
the
neighborhood
and
couldn’t
find his
mother.
More
than a
dozen
patrol
deputies,
assisted
by a K-9
unit,
investigators
and
Sheriff’s
Office
helicopter,
are
searching
for
Robbins
and
checking
area
businesses,
parks
and cab
companies.
Postal
and
sanitation
workers
also
have
been
alerted
to keep
an eye
out for
Robbins,
and
recorded
messages
have
been
sent out
to area
residents.
Robbins
is 5’6”
and
weighs
about
105
pounds
and has
gray
hair
pulled
back in
a
ponytail,
hazel
eyes and
a fair
complexion.
She was
last
seen
wearing
light
gray
sweatpants,
a darker
gray,
short-sleeve
cotton
t-shirt,
gray
moccasins
and
glasses.
Anyone
who
spots
Robbins
is asked
to call
911
immediately.

p.m.
The
missing
woman,
Hazel
Robbins,
has
been
located.
A
resident
on
Wakefield
Circle,
about
a
half-mile
from
where
Robbins
went
missing,
spotted
the
86-year-old
woman
in
his
backyard.
Robbins
was
recovered
at
about
2:25
p.m.
After
paramedics
finish
checking
her
out,
she’ll
be
brought
home
to
be
reunited
with
her
family.
