SHERIFF'S OFFICE LOOKING FOR MISSING MAN

 

 

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating an 83-year-old man who drove away from his house near Ormond Beach Monday evening and has failed to return home. Wager Nickel drove away from his house at 148 Roberta Road at about 6:45 p.m., and may be headed to Florida's west coast or to south Florida. He has Alzheimer's, has not driven in two years and does not know his way around the area. His daughter reported him missing at 7:26 p.m. Deputies have issued a Silver Alert.

 

Nickel is 6’1” and weighs about 195 pounds, has gray hair and hazel eyes and was last seen wearing brown pants and a tan western-style shirt. He was driving a white, 1999 Pontiac Montana van with gold trim and a Florida tag, HGT-3W. Anyone who spots Nickel or his vehicle is asked to call 911 immediately.

 

UPDATE: 07/05/11 - 2:40 a.m. 

Wager Nickel, was found safe and sound in Palm Beach County and is being reunited with his family.
