SHERIFF'S OFFICE INVESTIGATING HOUSE FIRE DEATH

Volusia County sheriff’s investigators along with county firefighters are on the scene of a house fire just north of Daytona Beach. The body of an adult man was found inside the charred home.

The fire at 1011 10th Street was reported at 4:17 Tuesday morning by neighbors. County firefighters began dousing the flames and then entered the residence in response to information that someone may have been trapped inside. Firefighters found the victim at 4:37 a.m. and pronounced him dead on scene.

The Sheriff’s Office’s Major Case Unit has been dispatched to the scene to conduct a death investigation. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
