SHERIFF'S OFFICE SEEKING HELP IN LOCATING 84-YEAR-OLD MAN

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is asking the public's help in locating an 84-year-old man who may have Alzheimer's and has been missing since 1 p.m. Thursday. At that time Robert Gorman left 90 S. Charles R Beal Blvd. in DeBary heading north. Relatives called the Sheriff's Office for help at about 5:30 p.m. because Gorman had not yet arrived at his home on Robinwood Drive in DeLand.

 

Gorman was driving a 2001 GMC Safari van with gold lower panels and Florida license plate B217WA. He was last seen wearing khaki pants, blue and gray shoes, and an unknown color shirt. He is 5'10" tall and about 185 pounds. Anyone with information about Gorman's whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at (386) 736-5999, or 911 if there is an emergency situation.

 

UPDATE:  09/03/10 - 5:30 a.m.

Missing 84-year-old man Robert Gorman was found safe and sound this morning in Hillsborough County. The family had discovered his location when Gorman used his credit card to check into a hotel. The Volusia County Sheriff's Office requested that local law enforcement there do a well being check on him, and Gorman was found safe.
