DRIVER CRITICALLY INJURED AFTER CRASHING INTO HOUSE

A vehicle flipped and then collided into a house on East Normandy Boulevard in Deltona early Tuesday morning, leaving the driver, 48-year-old, Joy Denise Terry of DeLand in critical condition. None of the five occupants inside the house was injured in the crash.

The single-vehicle accident occurred at about 2:29 a.m. when the driver of a northbound 2006 Mazda Miata lost control of her car, drove off the roadway and crashed into a residence at 804 E. Normandy Blvd. Deltona firefighters extricated the female driver from the wreck. She had no pulse, but was revived by paramedics at the scene and airlifted by a Sheriff’s Office helicopter to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the crash.
