COMPOSITE
SKETCHES RELEASED IN DELTONA ROBBERIES
The Volusia County
Sheriff’s Office has released composite sketches of suspects in two
recent robberies in Deltona, hoping someone will recognize the images
and help investigators identify the culprits.
The
robberies occurred earlier this month, just 10 days apart. While a gun
wasn’t flashed in either robbery, in one the robber showed the store
clerk a gun tucked into his waistband, and in the other the robber kept
a hand on his waistband to imply he had a weapon. No one was injured
during either robbery. While investigators noted similarities in the
physical descriptions provided by witnesses from both robberies,
officials aren’t certain whether the same man robbed both stores.
The
first robbery occurred on the evening of April 7 at the Beverage and
Cigarette Outlet on Doyle Road. The second robbery occurred on the
morning of April 17 at Century Cleaners on Providence Boulevard. The
robber from the April 7 incident was described as an approximately
5’8” white man in his late 20s or early 30s who weighed about 180
pounds and had short, black hair and dark eyes. The
description
of the suspect in the second robbery was an approximately 6’ white man
between 30-40 who weighed about 160 pounds and had short, brown hair and
a slight amount of facial hair. Anyone with information about the
robberies is asked to contact Sheriff’s investigator Ryan Mills at
(386) 860-7030 or Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida, toll-free, at
(888) 277-TIPS. Callers to Crime Stoppers will remain anonymous and can
qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.
