SHERIIFF'S OFFICE STARTS A GOFUNDME ACCOUNT TO HELP THE DEARBORN FAMILY WITH MEMORIALSERVICE COSTS

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office family is grieving the loss of Darian Dearborn, the 17-year-old daughter of one of our deputies, Dennis Dearborn. Darian lost her life Wednesday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in Seville.

This kind of tragedy is any family's nightmare, and our hearts are broken for Deputy Dearborn, his entire family and everyone who knew and loved Darian. With this account, we hope to raise enough funds to help Darian's family lay her to rest: https://www.gofundme.com/dariandearborn

“The Dearborn family is our family, and when a tragedy like this affects one of our own, we have to pull together and show them we’re here to carry them through,” Sheriff Mike Chitwood said Thursday. “We will be here for whatever Dennis and his family need, whenever they need it.”

On behalf of the VCSO, thanks for all of your prayers, condolences and support,
