MAN SHOT, KILLED AFTER STABBING DURING ALTERCATION IN DELEON SPRINGS

A man who stabbed another man during an altercation was shot and killed by the stabbing victim's brother Tuesday night at a DeLeon Springs gas station.

Deputies responded to the call around 7:33 p.m. at the Valero station at 5145 N. U.S. Highway 17.

The shooter remained on scene. The man who was shot was pronounced dead on the scene.

The man who was stabbed was taken to Florida Hospital DeLand by witnesses at the gas station. His injuries were non-life-threatening.

Detectives are continuing to conduct interviews and investigate the incident. The identities of the parties involved are not available for release at this time.

UPDATE 9/5/18:

The deceased is Tony Berriozabal, 28 (DOB 7/2/1990)

The shooter is Jesus Romero, 25 (DOB 6/1/1993)

At this point, there are no other updates available in the case, which remains under investigation.
