YOU’RE INVITED: JAN. 3 SWEARING-IN OF SHERIFF-ELECT CHITWOOD, CHIEF DEPUTY CREAMER

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff-Elect Michael J. Chitwood would like to invite the news media to join the incoming sheriff and chief deputy for their swearing-in ceremony at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, inside the Mary McLeod Bethune Performing Arts Center in Daytona Beach.

The ceremony is free to the public, but tickets are required for general admission. No tickets are required for members of the news media attending to cover the event. We will have an area reserved for the news media to capture video and sound of the ceremony as well as an interview with the new sheriff afterward.

Doors open at 9:30 a.m., and members of our staff will be present to help your crews get set up. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us in the PIO office at 386-736-5989 or email me at agant@vcso.us .
