The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early-morning armed robbery attempt at a McDonald’s restaurant in Deltona.

Around 4:28 a.m. Sunday, the suspect entered the McDonald’s at 410 Deltona Blvd. brandishing a handgun, demanding money from the safe and cell phones from the employees. The suspect was described as a white male, about 6 feet tall with a thin build, wearing a dark hoodie, light-colored pants, brown boots and yellowish-green aviator-style sunglasses.

The suspect left on foot and headed toward Welcome Center Drive. No one was injured in the incident. Responding deputies and K-9 units searched the area without success.
