V1 W/F 16 YOA (Juvenile) D1 Eduardo Rodriguez W/M 18 YOA Deputies responded for a burglary that had just occurred. The victim advised she was woken up by Rodriguez D1 standing over her bed rubbing her leg. Rodriguez was wearing a bandana which the victim pulled off allowing her to identify him. The victim tried to restrain Rodriguez from fleeing and was struck during a brief altercation. Rodriguez fled out of the residence on foot. The victm called 911 and reported said incident. Several deputies, K-9, and Air-One responded. A perimeter was established and Deputy Reinhart along with his K-9 partner apprehended Rodriguez without incident. The victim knows the defendant from school but does not associate with him. During an interview the defendant admitted he entered residence to have sexual intercourse with the victim. The defendant was charged with sexual battery, burglary with battery, and child abuse.
Deputies responded for a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival it was determined V1 and D1 were engaged in a verbal argument when D1 threw a steak knife at V1 nearly striking him in the head. The steak knife became lodged in a bedroom door and was later collected. D1 was placed under arrest and transported to the VCBJ.
***JUVENILE*** Deputies responded for a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival it was determined D1 and D2 engaged V1 in a verbal argument. D2 was holding V2 in her arms and when she approached V1 to fight him she threw V2 to the ground. D1 then intervened and struck V1 with a closed fist. Deputies placed D1 under arrest for Battery- Simple for striking his brother and D2 was placed under arrest for Child Abuse for throwing V2 to the ground. Both D1 and D2 were transported to the VCBJ.
Thomas Ashley (V1) Deputies responded to 1975 Wilson St in Seville reference to a burglary investigation. Upon arrival contact was made with the victim who advised that unknown person(s) entered her residence but no items appeared missing. No additional leads or suspect information at this time.
V1 wanted to kill herself. She was Baker Acted.
D1 battered V1. The incident was DV. D1 was arrested.
D1 hit V1 & V2. The incident was DV. D1 was arrested.
****JUVENILE**** D1 battered V1 and V2. V2 is a juvenile. The incident was DV.
Deputies responded to above location in reference to a person being shot. The reporting party advised William Schusk called her to come over and help sew up his injuries. Schusk did not want the reporting party to call law enforcement, but after seeing he had been shot, she called anyway. Schusk had been shot twice in the arm. Schusk was uncooperative and gave conflicting statements when questioned about how the incident occurred. According to a witness on scene, Schusk had been in an argument with another male at a different location during a party. Schusk's injury was non life threatening and he was transported by EVAC to Halifax hospital. On call CID, Inv. Welch responded and took over the investigation. The Watch Commander was notified.
Gonzalez Alicia (V1) Deputies responded to 240 Carter St in Deland reference to a burglary investigation. Upon arrival contact was made with (V1) who advised that unknown person(s) entered the property without permission. No items appeared missing. No additional leads or suspect information.
Carola Bruce went on vacation, leaving her daughter to house sit. Upon returning numerous items had been stolen from the residence and her vehicle. The case is active and there are leads.
****JUVENILE**** Deputies responded in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival contact was made with (V1) who advised that her boyfriend (D1) battered her. (V1) and (D1) live together and have a child in common. (D1) was arrested for domestic battery and transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail.
